Description

Oil Bound Distemper (OBD) is a type of paint used for interior walls. It is made by mixing pigments, extenders, and a drying oil medium like linseed oil. OBD is smoother and more durable than dry distemper. Compared to distempers, acrylic distemper is a more advanced form of OBD. The added advantage of acrylic binders allows for better adhesion, better washability, and durability. They are best suited for the walls and ceilings of houses, offices, and institutions. They provide a smooth, matte to low-sheen finish and come in a range of colours. Unlike dry distemper, OBD is moisture resistant and durable. But it is not as durable as emulsion paints. Acrylic versions are more flexible and crack-resistant. They’re great for low-traffic indoor areas that require inexpensive, easy-to-clean finishes.

Benefits:

1) Durable than dry distemper and superior finish.

2) Presents rolling and nice covering of walls.

3) Fights off mild moisture and surface wear.

4) The acrylic version offers better bonding and flexibility.

5) A less expensive option for interior design.
